Mobile Monitoring Basics
A wireless locatable device (beacon) calculates its location from freely available signals provided by GPS satellites. The beacon’s location is transmitted over the cellular network to computers that are monitored by a third-party provider or directly by the subscriber over the internet.
GPS-based mobile monitoring answers location and status questions about vehicles, assets and people such as:
Where is it now? |

|
Real-time mapping |
Where has it been? |

|
Route logs |
Is it where it should be? |

|
Zone notifications |
Is it ok? |

|
Activity notifications (panic, speed, temp) |
