Guardian Unveils New Indoor-Locatable Asset Tracking Beacon

The Guardian 8200 is designed to combat the $30 billion stolen asset problem

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 16, 2007 - Guardian Mobile Monitoring Systems, Inc., the leading provider of GPS-based, mobile security solutions for the security alarm monitoring industry, is pleased to announce the launch of the Guardian 8200 indoor-locatable beacon for asset tracking and theft recovery.

Historically GPS tracking beacons have provided little relief for many asset tracking and theft problems because beacons cannot be located indoors or in other challenging locations, and power-hungry GPS receivers can drain a battery in 12 hours or less.

The Guardian 8200 overcomes these limitations by combining GPS and cellular triangulation into one indoor-locatable system. This combination provides the accuracy of GPS with the building-penetrating signal strength of cellular wireless, all in a small, self-contained unit that runs for up to 30 days between battery charges. Using the gpsOne™ location technology platform from Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM), the Guardian 8200 provides unbeatable performance for the most demanding covert and security related asset tracking applications.

These technology enhancements can now enable the security and protection of goods-in-transit and inventoried assets, plus a wide range of law enforcement applications such as surveillance and sting operations. Guardian’s integrated central station incident handling and location-aware PSAP database provide the tools necessary to contact local authorities and initiate a recovery. Additional functions include automated email and cell phone alerts for zone monitoring and low battery conditions.

“Asset theft amounts to over $30 billion per year in the U.S. alone, and that is just the reported figure,” commented Rob Goehring, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing for Guardian. “We believe that the combination of the Guardian 8200 beacon and our Contigo™ software platform is a powerful solution to help companies of all sizes reduce losses and increase productivity for a wide variety of applications.”

The Guardian 8200 will be on display at ISC West 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada, from March 28 to 30th at booth 34020. The Guardian 8200 has also been entered into the SIA New Product Showcase at the ISC West show.
