Guardian Launches New Beacon for Security and Productivity Applications
The Guardian 1600 provides flexibility and versatility for a variety of asset tracking needs
SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 11, 2007 - Guardian Mobile Monitoring Systems, Inc., the leading provider of GPS-based, mobile security solutions for the security alarm monitoring industry, is pleased to announce the launch of the Guardian 1600 beacon for equipment, outdoor, and 12V powered assets.
Designed and manufactured by Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB), a world leader in advanced positioning solutions, the Guardian 1600 is ideal for the monitoring and recovery of powered and portable assets. With a weatherproof housing, this beacon includes a motion sensor, high-sensitivity GPS, zone and speed monitoring, configurable alerts, and connections for inputs as well as 12V vehicle power or a 90 day battery pack.
The Guardian 1600 is ideal for a variety of security applications where the weatherproof housing and long battery life are critical to monitoring the location and status of an asset, while providing immediate cell phone and email alerts in case of unauthorized movement or zone departure. Applications include surveillance, investigations, and portable vehicle or asset protection. Combined with Contigo™, Guardian’s integrated central station incident handling system and location-aware PSAP database, central stations now have the tools necessary to contact local authorities and initiate a recovery for missing assets.
For productivity applications, the 1600 can be connected directly to 12V power to improve the utilization of commercial vehicles and assets. With the option for an internal or external GPS antenna, speed and zone alerts, configurable tracking, and optional inputs for power cut detection and engine hours, the 1600 provides a low-cost alternative to traditional fleet management systems.
“The Guardian 1600 is one of the most flexible and versatile GPS beacons on the market today,” commented Rob Goehring, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing. “Whether it’s reducing losses from the $1 billion in construction equipment stolen every year, or increasing the productivity of rental equipment in the field, we look forward to helping our partners offer these services to new and existing customers.”
The Guardian 1600 will be on display at ISC West 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada, from March 28 to 30th at booth 34020.
